How we help

Dad Matters supports dads during the early years, from pregnancy to a child’s second birthday. These first 1,001 days are a vital time for a baby’s development, and we’re here to make sure dads feel supported and confident in their role.

We focus on three main areas:

Bonding with your baby – building strong and positive relationships from the start.

Mental wellbeing – offering support so dads can look after themselves as well as their families.

Practical help and advice – connecting dads to information and local services when needed.

By supporting dads early, we help give children the best possible start in life and strengthen family wellbeing for the future.

In Brent, we do this through a mix of activities: information and guidance, 1-to-1 support, walk-and-talk sessions, group Dad Chats, and workshops where new dads can learn about their child’s development and how to be more involved right from the start.

By working with dads at this important stage, we help give children the best start in life while strengthening families for the future.
