Admin Support
Would you like to volunteer with us?
Volunteering in our admin team is a brilliant way to support us if you need your volunteering to work around you. You can choose to dip in and out of projects as you have time, or commit to something more regular: whatever time you can give is invaluable.
What you’ll do
Home-Start offers a number of services and our volunteers and frontline staff need admin support to deliver these. Our admin volunteers do a variety of tasks, from regular online filing and reporting to research and design projects.
We’ll work with the experience you can offer: if you’re a whizz at Excel, then let’s get you involved in our spreadsheets, or if you’re a dab-hand at Canva, then we’ll ask for your support in creating eye-catching graphics. It’s up to you how you lend a hand!
How you’ll help
Every week, Home-Start volunteers give countless hours of their time to support local families who are facing challenging times. By offering admin support, you will help ensure that the home-visiting volunteers and our staff have the tools they need to keep doing this work.
What you’ll get
Flexibility! Supporting us with admin projects allows you to fit your volunteering around your own life at times that work for you.
It’s also a great way to build experience for future volunteer or employment opportunities.
And you will have ongoing support throughout your volunteer journey with us. This includes regular training opportunities and bi-monthly support meetings with the rest of the team.
If you’re one of our corporate partners, you’ll also be able to record the hours for your corporate programme if this is part of your package.

How you sign up
Once we receive your enquiry, our Volunteering Manager will be in touch to arrange an informal chat with you about your current skills and experience, and about how you would like to support. From there, we can get you started on a project fairly quickly!
