Groups for families
Do you need support?
Our groups are a great way to give your child the opportunity to meet other children, and for you to meet other parents.
We also offer remote activities and support for when you cannot leave the house but would still like the feel of a group setting.
Home from Home Group
Located in Grahame Park, Barnet


This twice-weekly family drop-in has been running successfully for more than 10 years. Perfect for families with children under 5.

Time:
Thursdays, 10:00 – 12:00
Fridays, 10:00 – 12:00
Suitable for:
Families with pre-school age children.
What to expect:
- Your children to be provided with a wide variety of fun and educational toys, and the opportunity to socialise with other children in a friendly environment.
- Arts and crafts for you to make with your children.
- The opportunity to meet other parents and to chat over a (free) tea/coffee.
- An opportunity for you to discuss concerns confidentially.
- A varied programme of events, including special holiday events, visitor talks and trips.
Covid-19 safety measures:
- Adults are required to wear a face covering whilst inside and use hand sanitiser upon entry to the community centre building.
- Adults are required to maintain social distancing whilst attending sessions.
- All equipment will be cleaned and sanitised after each session.

- All ingredients and equipment will be provided.
- You will learn new skills and recipes whilst introducing your child to new flavours and kitchen skills.

- A fun-filled session with a Stretch-N-Grow teacher who will guide you through movement stretches, games and dances.
- Children will gain awareness of their body parts and the impact that physical movement has on their muscles and heart rate.
- Sessions bring in children’s interests and a narrative to help children engage with the activities.

Mum and Baby Support Group
Online group – CURRENTLY PAUSED, AS OF 01 MARCH 2022


Having a baby is exciting, but it can also be challenging. Join other parents to share your feelings with parents who are going through the same things at the same time.

Time:
Thursdays, 11:00 – 12:00
Suitable for:
Parents-to-be and new parents with babies under 1-year old.
What to expect:
This group is led by Caroline, an Antenatal Teacher, and Helen, our Perinatal Health Lead.
In this group, you can share your experiences of pregnancy labour, birth and the early months of living with your baby. You can ask questions, found out information, and share your feelings with parents who are going through the same things at the same time.
